Enriching Our Communities Forever

Larry & Shirley Dukerschein Rusk County Community Foundation Fund

Hello, we are Larry and Shirley Dukerschein. We have been married and have lived in the Glen Flora area for 40 plus years. Larry was involved with Artisans for 30 years and Shirley has worked as an Extension Home Economist for Rusk and Price Counties, and has had many part time jobs throughout the years. We are presently crop farming corn, beans, hay and a few beef cattle on our century family-owned farm. When we were first married, we were involved in foster care and later adopted and raised our 3 Korean children-Jennifer, Jessica and Mark. Over the years we both have been involved in our local 4H club, community club, school, Kinship, Harvest of Talents, Powerhouse, and churches. We see firsthand the importance of these organizations in our community. About four years ago we heard and read about RCCF. We have been very blessed in our lives and felt that investing with the RCCF would fit our goal of quietly giving back to our county. For example, we have friends who are involved in some of the local fire departments who work so hard to be there when they are called to serve. It felt great to be able to contribute through the RCCF program to their budgets recently, so they could get some much needed equipment. It is awesome to see our fund continue to grow each year and know that we can help out other nonprofits organizations. The best part is that it will continue to grow forever!
